Qualtech Services Ltd's redundancy counselling programmes are
designed to help people who no longer have a role in a company
after redundancy to find a new direction - either new employment,
training, self-employment, retirement, etc.
We recognise the need for guidance and support from announcement
of redundancies right through to the chosen outcome. Our team
have a good understanding of the issues surrounding redundancy
and will help clients to feel positive about their situation.
The aims of the programmes are to ensure that all clients have
identified and prepared for their future.
As everyone will have different aims and objectives our programmes
are flexible and can be tailored to meet the specific requirements
of client companies and potential participants. A meeting is held
with each individual and, during the meeting, our personnel will
help identify the individual's strengths and weaknesses, skills
and experience. They will also receive advice on some of the options
available to them, including:
- Employment in a similar industry
- Employment in a different industry
- Self-employment/business start-up
- Retirement
- Retraining
- Further education
- During the individual interviews we will establish which area
of the programme would be the most appropriate for their participation.
JOB SEARCH
For those wishing to seek further employment this would be the
next stage. It would include workshops on preparation of CVs,
methods of making applications and interview techniques. A CV
would be prepared for each person. Details of known vacancies,
newspapers, stationery, photocopying facilities, etc. would be
available for participants. We would also request individuals
to identify companies where they would be interested in working.
We would then contact the companies on their behalf to establish
whether they have suitable vacancies available.
SELF-EMPLOYMENT/BUSINESS START-UP
Some people may feel that redundancy provides them with the ideal
opportunity to investigate the possibility of setting up their
own business. This programme includes workshops covering the following:
- How to research the project
- Preparation of cash flows, budgets, etc.
- Finding premises
- Funding
- Marketing
- Business planning
As well as the workshop sessions we would be able to provide
advice on each persons individual project on a one-to-one basis.
RETIREMENT
A few employees may feel they wish to take advantage of their
situation and take early retirement, which should be a time for
relaxation without worries. Suitable financial investment will
ensure this and individual advice will be available to anyone
choosing this option. We will also invite guest speakers to give
talks on maintaining good health in retirement and voluntary work.
RETRAINING/FURTHER EDUCATION
With today's fast changing world many people benefit from updating
their skills or, if looking at another area of employment, retraining.
Participation in the redundancy counselling programme will help
identify any training requirements. We will also provide advice
on courses and qualifications available, organisations/companies
where training can be undertaken and help participants to apply
for relevant courses or training programmes.
Our team will provide training, advice, guidance and support,
as well as administrative services, throughout the programmes.
We also arrange for relevant guest speakers to visit and chat
with groups or individuals. These may include independent financial
advisors, representatives of training organisations, business
start-up specialists, employment agencies, careers advisors, Employment
Services, etc. A noticeboard displaying vacancies would be available
throughout the programme and participants will be provided with
assistance to help with making their applications.
