AIM OF THESE QUALIFICATIONS
The aim of this NVQs is to assess candidates’ ability to apply the knowledge and skills required in establishing a business enterprise.
WHO ARE THESE QUALIFICATIONs FOR?
These qualifications are intended for individuals who are in the process of, or who intend to set up a business. They are not for individuals who are exploring enterprise as a possible career option, or on programmes that do not actually involve starting a business.
The Level 3 NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates who are considering, or in the process of, setting up their own businesses.
UNIT TITLES
Candidates must achieve the required number of units as specified below. Candidates may take additional units as appropriate to suit their development, however, these are not required to complete the qualification.
To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve 7 mandatory units.
Mandatory Units
- Achieve the goals for your business - new business (EE1)
- Win and keep customers (EE2)
- Build relationships to build your business (EE3)
- Check the likely success of a business idea (BD1)
- Decide on the financial needs of your business (MN1)
- Check your ability to run your business (YS2)
- Plan how you will sell your products or services (WB3)
Additional Units
- Plan where your business is going (BD3)
- Create the infrastructure your business needs (BI1)
- Manage cash flow in your business (MN4)
- Chose a legal format that suits your business (LG1)
- Check what customers need from your business (WB1)
- Conduct an assessment of risks in the workplace (LG4)
- Explore your own business motives (YS1)
- Improve your business skills (YS3)
- Recruit people for your business (OP3)
- Decide on a business location (BL1)
- Choose a business premises (BL2)
- Identify needs and suppliers for your business (BS1)
