AIM OF THESE QUALIFICATIONS
The aim of these NVQs is to assess candidates’ ability to apply the knowledge and skills required in developing a business enterprise.
WHO ARE THESE QUALIFICATIONS FOR?
These qualifications are intended for individuals who intend to develop an established business. They are not for individuals who are exploring enterprise as a possible career option, or on programmes that do not actually involve developing a business.
The NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates who are considering developing an already established business.
UNIT TITLES
Candidates must achieve the required number of units as specified below. Candidates may take additional units as appropriate to suit their development, however, these are not required to complete the qualification.
To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve 5 mandatory units and 3 optional units.
Mandatory Units
- Achieve the goals for your business - established business (EE1)
- Win and keep customers (EE2)
- Make deals to take your business forward (EE3)
- Find innovative ways to improve the business (EE4)
- Build relationships to build your business (EE5)
Optional Units
- Plan where your business is going (BD3)
- Carry out a review of your business (BD4)
- Carry out the plans for your business (BD5)
- Improve the quality of products or services (BD7)
- Monitor the quality and use of supplies and equipment in your business (BS2)
- Sell your products and services (WB5)
- Set and monitor financial targets for your business (MN2)
- Keep up to date with current legislation affecting your business (LG2)
- Manage cash flow in your business (MN4)
- Conduct an assessment of risks in the workplace (LG4)
- Review the skills your business needs (OP1)
- Make sure people in your business can do their work (OP5)
